Sprague Solutions Joins Forces with Henriksen Butler

Henriksen Butler (HB), exclusive Herman Miller Certified Dealer for Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, has completed a merger with iconic Boise Knoll dealer, Sprague Solutions. Founded by Daniel and Tracy Sprague, Sprague Solutions has served the greater Boise area as an authorized dealer of Knoll Furniture for more than 20 years. Sprague Solutions and HB will join to represent the storied collections of Herman Miller, Knoll, and MillerKnoll’s portfolio of 19 affiliated brands.

HB’s merger with Sprague Solutions was initiated by Herman Miller’s acquisition of Knoll in July 2021 and the subsequent formation of MillerKnoll, Inc. Designed to bring a more diverse collection of commercial furniture choices to customers with distinction, the MillerKnoll family of brands now includes DatesWeiser, Design Within Reach, Geiger, HAY, Holly Hunt, KnollStudio, KnollTextiles, Maharam, Muuto and naughtone.

David Colling, CEO of HB, said, “With 260 employees and operations in three states, HB brings unprecedented scale and resources to the Idaho Market. Dan, Tracy, Jeff and our 15 local employees bring a strong and committed focus on our Idaho-based customers.”

Both companies are excited to be working together as HB to support the workplace planning and furnishing needs of interior designers, builders, government contractors and other commercial clients in Boise and surrounding areas. Managing partner, Daniel Sprague said, “The impact we'll be able to have on any given project is truly amazing. The talent, knowledge and collection of brands is unparalleled in the marketplace. I believe our customers will see and feel that right out of the gate.”

Managing partner, Tracy Sprague said, “HB was a competitor we’ve always had a great deal of respect for. From day one meeting the HB team, it was clear that our core values are very much aligned.” In addition to values and culture, Colling added that both teams’ “philosophy and go-to- market strategy” are thoroughly synergistic.

HB’s Boise VP of Sales, Jeff Clarke will team up with Daniel and Tracy Sprague in managing the day-to-day operations of the newly merged company. He explained that current customers will continue working with their existing account managers, and new clients will be assigned to specialists best suited to their business needs, be it an account manager, or a managing partner. Clarke said, “We currently have existing customers in each account manager's portfolio. Those will remain as is. When it comes to new clientele, we will, together, identify the best fit for that client.”

In early 2023, HB will open a new showroom in Boise featuring a curated collection of the MillerKnoll portfolio. In the interim, the two existing showrooms will individually showcase Herman Miller and Knoll offerings.

Colling said, “At HB, we have always admired the products and design legacy that Knoll represents. We are thrilled to partner with Dan and Tracy to create one integrated team to represent MillerKnoll, the leader in modern design.”
